Fundraising event for Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue and Cinque Ports Rescue

The past few years I have got to know Rowena Kenward and Amos Batt from Mr B's Proper Walks, they recently held their first fundraising event Deck The Howls at The Blacksmith and The Toffeemaker to raise funds for two rescue dog charities Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue and Cinque Ports Rescue.

There were a variety of stall holders and supporters including Lead The Walk that sell dog collars, leads, coats, sweaters and accessories from independent brands around the world https://www.leadthewalk.com PawPost sell a monthly subscription for dogs and cats which includes natural food, a variety of premium, natural and eco friendly toys. From every box sold they donate a percentage of profits to a local dog rescue charity https://www.pawpost.co.uk  ByBenji Biltong Dog Treats that provide natural dog treats which are low in salt and fat with no added sugars or carbohydrates http://www.bybenji.com.

One of the other supporters was Portrait Pals where you could meet some of their artists and have a live painting or drawing done of your dog. They attend fundraising events throughout the year and from each event they attend a percentage of profits are donated to the chosen charities https://www.portraitpals.co.uk

Also Stella the beautiful Staffie and resident of the pub kept an eye on everyone during the event from her bed. Rowena and Amos had a great turnout. From donations the total amount raised was £500.00 which is a great amount and will help more dogs needing homes.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue is a charity run by Chris Clark and a group of her volunteers, they set up in 2008 and take in unwanted Staffies from the council pounds, police and social services. In addition to the dogs in kennels the charity offers full life after care for some of their dogs who have been rehomed if they need continous veterinary treatment. For more information on how you can help to raise funds please visit their website http://www.sbtrescue.co.uk

If you are looking for a dog friendly pub to visit with your dog near Islington in London I can recommend The Blacksmith and The Toffeemaker https://www.theblacksmithandthetoffeemaker.co.uk
