Crufts Dog Show NEC 2016

I went to Crufts Dog Show at the Birmingham NEC last week and had a lovely few days meeting and photographing lots of different dogs. I really loved watching the stunt dogs on the Arden Grange stand as some of them had started out as rescue dogs. It was so lovely to see how well these dogs are doing and many of them have been on TV programmes. You always get more attached when you know they have not had the best start in life.

Some of the dogs I look forward to photographing on Gundog Day are the golden retrievers, spaniels and labradors (they always have such wonderful expressions), I could photograph them all day.  I also had the pleasure of meeting Bruno the mini dachshund on the Kennel Club Charitable Trust stand who has a huge fan base  on Instagram and has over 69,000 followers. He was adorable and has so many different outfits, he was very photogenic with his lovely bow tie, apparently he has a selection of bow ties.

 I used my Nikon D300s camera, Nikon 24-70mm F2.8 and Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 lenses.

Below are a few of my favourite photos from Crufts:

To the left is Dodger with another rescue dog called Biscuit who is also a stunt dog.

Below is Dodger doing his cover your eyes trick. Dodger is a rescue dog from Dogs Trust and he has appeared in many TV programmes, he is best know for his role in Dr Martin when he played the canine stalker Buddy.
